"Dinner Time 開飯" Series Debuts at Geneseo, New York


"Dinner Time 開飯" series debuts at Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery, State University of New York at Geneseo in "Chee Wang Ng: Chinese Diaspora - Beyond A Bowl of Rice" curated by Cynthia Hawkins-Owen, Director Galleries and Curator, SUNY Geneseo. This Street Photography series is an ongoing series documenting the Chinese diaspora through the business enterprise of restaurant big and small across the US. Human beings cannot do without food, these restaurants ensure the survival of the community in our contested capitalist society.

Also featuring in Ng’s solo exhibition at the gallery included are his two video, and six large scale photographs from his conceptual photography “Eaten Your Fill of Rice? series 食飽飯未呀? 系列."

NYFA Artist as Entrepreneur Boot Camp for Artists of Color Awardee


Through the support of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the New York Foundation for the Arts has awarded Chee Wang Ng as one of the 44 artists in an overwhelming and impressive response of applications across all disciplines for the upcoming 2017 Artists as Entrepreneur Boot Camp for Artists of Color program. Customized to fit the needs of participants and partners, this boot camp will delve into the fundamental principles of sustainability in the arts, providing a space for artists of color to work through the themes of finance, law, marketing, fundraising, and community sustainability. NYFA makes an investment in the cultural infrastructure that ultimately benefits the entire field by building stronger connections, shared knowledge and experiences between artists.
